- ➤ Animal Charity of Ohio rescued six dogs on Monday, Jan. 19 after finding them chained outside with cold injuries, and in Trumbull County a dog was found in a poorly maintained enclosure in North Bloomfield with a hearing next week - both cases reveal pets suffer in the cold. WFMJ
- ➤ A local nonprofit will host a free indoor pop-up skatepark at Penguin City Brewing Company on Feb. 21 with sessions for riders 14 and under from noon to 4 and for all ages from 5 to 8; safety rules require legal waivers and helmets for riders under 18. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Mahoning County Public Health approved a new Community and Faith-Based Infant and Maternal Health fund on Tuesday to lower infant mortality and support expectant mothers by partnering with local groups. The fund, part of a $9.6 million grant from the Ohio Department of Children and Youth, will provide key maternal care education (ten organizations statewide are set to receive assistance). WFMJ
- ➤ Suzanna’s Kitchen from Norcross issued a recall for over 13,000 pounds of fully cooked grilled chicken breast fillets produced on Oct. 14, 2025 after routine testing detected listeria. Products were shipped to food service centers including Ohio, and no illnesses have been reported. WFMJ
