- ➤ Students in Melissa Hackett’s MCCTC art class collaborated with Animal Charity to design a new logo for the Charlie’s Secret Wish Program. Animal Charity chose Grace Krikpatrick’s design as the winner while plans include using four finalists’ work on t-shirts and murals and framing all five entries for display. WFMJ

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Officials advise caution as a winter storm will hit the Mahoning Valley tonight through Sunday, bringing (8 to 10 inches) of snow that may impact travel; state and local agencies are on standby to clear roads and help residents stay safe. Tribune Chronicle
- ➤ Trustee Arnie Clebone cited 2025 successes including Mercy Health’s 61,900 sqft behavioral health facility opening, 32 lots by Altobelli Real Estate and Home & Land Developers, and Refuge Ministries’ soccer fields near Center Park improved with a $450,000 grant. - ➤ Air Force veteran Matthew Dubon — with extensive dog-handling experience — is appointed executive dog warden for Trumbull County’s pound, effective Monday. County commissioners approved the move and he will also help choose a deputy and plan a new location. The Vindicator
- ➤ Ohio officials have released a draft workforce development plan for 2026-2027 that focuses on Mahoning, Trumbull, and Columbiana counties. The plan offers alternative service points at local libraries to help residents address skill gaps in advanced manufacturing and health care (public comment runs until Feb. 22). WFMJ

- ➤ Southwoods Health announced on Friday that its Howland facility at 9371 East Market Street will expand imaging services, including 3T MRI + fixed PET/CT, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, DEXA and 3D digital mammography, plus a women's Center for Breast Health.
