- ➤ Youngstown Business and Professional Women is accepting applications for two scholarships - the $1,000 Dr. Anne McMahon Scholarship for YSU students and the $2,000 Centennial Scholarship for female students at accredited schools in Mahoning, Trumbull or Columbiana counties - with a deadline of March 16. - ➤ Warren Music Club will hold its annual scholarship dinner on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Morris home—local chefs will prepare dinner while members perform choral selections and a Music in Poetry reading to fund a Dana School of Music scholarship. Tribune Chronicle

- ➤ Lt. Gov. Jim Tressel visited Kent State University Trumbull on Monday morning to share details about the new WorkOhio initiative designed to simplify job seeking and training connections on WorkOhio.gov. - ➤ Eastwood Mall in Niles is experiencing a water outage from a water main break on Route 422, and the water department is working on repairs — the mall remains open as tenants have been notified and a spokesperson said restoration may occur soon. WFMJ
- ➤ Legislators introduced bills at a YCSD meeting that call for dissolving the academic distress commission and returning decision power to local leaders. They believe this change will better serve the community. WFMJ
- ➤ Girard officials announced plans to bid on demolition and repairs at Wellman Theater off West Liberty Street, using ARP funds to update the venue. The city will also start dam safety upgrades at Upper Girard Lake and work with Steel Valley Spay for feral cats. Tribune Chronicle
- ➤ Lordstown Mayor Jackie Woodward urged residents to join a public hearing today at 6 p.m. at the Village Administration Building to discuss renewing the plant’s permit to discharge 620,000 gallons daily into Mud Creek; she warned that the plan may lead to flooding affecting local livestock + wildlife.
