- ➤ Registration is open for the Corporate Pinball Challenge and Fundraiser on March 24 from noon to 4 p.m. at Past Times Pinball and Video Arcade (419 N. State St.) in Girard. Teams will play for charity with free practice available March 17; RSVP by March 20. The Vindicator

- ➤ The Regional Chamber honored 16 Valley businesses on Wednesday at the Family-Owned Business Recognition Dinner in Poland by handing out four awards in categories from Success in Succession to Growth Story and the finalists will be featured on social media and in the Chamber’s Valley Business Magazine. - ➤ Mahoning County Juvenile Court and local school districts introduced the EWS program today to address chronic truancy by meeting with students and families — aiming to tackle the root causes of absenteeism. WFMJ
- ➤ Dylan Trevelline from Girard High School was named a finalist for the National Merit Scholarship Program and could win one of about 7,000 awards this spring; he plans to pursue a pre-med track in college. WFMJ

- ➤ PUCO ordered Cleveland Electric Illuminating, Ohio Edison and Toledo Edison on Wednesday to extend repayment of $245 million of deferred storm restoration costs from 5 to 25 years, lowering rates today in many areas though the shift may raise future bills, the Ohio Consumers' Council warned. - ➤ Five firefighters including Battalion Chief Jordan Thomas, Captains Andre Miller and Josh McHenry, and Lieutenants Brandon Athey and Zach Whinery were sworn in at the downtown main fire station on Wednesday after openings arose from Fire Chief Courtney Kelly’s promotion and retirements with Mayor Derrick McDowell administering the oath. - ➤ The Youngstown State Penguins beat Cleveland State 106-82 on Wednesday night (at Zidian Family Arena) with a strong offense that hit 63% of shots and tallied 21 assists on 33 baskets, while Salaridze scored a season-high 24 points to boost their conference hopes. Tribune Chronicle
- ➤ Ely of Tra's Gourmet Sandwiches is donating new red warm-ups to support Canfield athletics for the 2026 OHSAA tournament run starting Saturday. His contribution continues a strong local partnership with the school sports program. WFMJ
- ➤ Cardinal Mooney student Zion Hensley competed in the Golden Girl Championship in Boras, Sweden, finishing fourth but earning a (Top Talent of the World) award on her first overseas trip.
