- ➤ Drone Animal Rescue — a Northeast Ohio company — uses thermal drone technology to help find lost pets and recently assisted the Healthy Hearts and Paws Project in Warren in locating two missing black Labrador dogs last week, while co-founder Zach Dzurinda shared pet safety tips to avoid scams. - ➤ WesBanco is set to close its branches in Youngstown and Boardman soon (a company spokesperson confirmed) and customers will need to use nearby locations for banking services. WFMJ
- ➤ Primanti Brothers ended its 10-year run in Boardman Monday by closing its South Avenue location; the Pittsburgh-based chain is shifting operations to focus on remaining sites in Niles and across Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Florida, and Maryland. Tribune Chronicle

- ➤ Eastwood Mall hosts three nights of fashion showcases in March. The Prom Fashion Show debuts on March 5 at 6 p.m., the Dog & Catwalk Adoption Show runs on March 6 at 6 p.m., and the High School Fashion Face-Off begins on March 7 with school awards. WFMJ

- ➤ Champion Local School District filed a civil complaint in US District Court against video game makers (Roblox, Microsoft and Mojang) alleging that psychological features in games worsen student mental health and cause academic issues. At a board meeting, officials discussed budget challenges amid falling enrollment and property tax reform. Tribune Chronicle
- ➤ On Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2026, Youngstown City School District unveiled a new logo (a red and blue Y with the slogan One Vision. One Youngstown) at a board meeting, ahead of merging Chaney and East into Youngstown Unified this Fall. WFMJ
- ➤ At Trumbull Career & Technical Center meetings on Jan. 15 and Feb. 12, the board extended Jason Gray’s contract and approved a Narcan policy, board appointments, and school events on April 23 and May 13. At its Feb. meeting, Lowellville’s board approved a 22,180 dollars bus grant and course updates. The Vindicator
- ➤ South Range Speech and Debate team members will compete in the Nationals in Richmond in June after qualifying at the NDSA Northern Ohio District Competition + Superintendent Jarred Zapolnik earned a District Administrator of the Year award for co-hosting the event. WFMJ
- ➤ Representatives of Akiva Academy asked the Liberty Board of Education on Monday to annex property so the school can move its middle school program to a facility (about 60 students) across from its current site. The plan is pending Youngstown City School District approval to maintain a unified charter. The Vindicator

- ➤ Girard officials will pursue $175,000 in grants to add a synthetic ice rink and curling area at David Tod Memorial Park + the rink is planned mainly for winter use but may host other events year-round. Tribune Chronicle
- ➤ City of Struthers updated residents on Tuesday that Enbridge Gas will credit their next gas bill to help offset higher costs. The alert was posted on Facebook and sent by text message to affected customers. WFMJ
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Tuesday night, at the Youngstown City Schools Board meeting, the 9-U Little Bears received certificates of appreciation for defeating the West Boynton Wolfpack 33-0 in December 2025. Head coach Randy Triplett praised the team’s hard work and championship season. WFMJ
- ➤ The West Branch girls beat Salem 28-19 on Tuesday at West Branch High School in a low-scoring district semifinal, sweeping Salem with strong defense & marking head coach Walt DeShields' 400th win. The Warriors will face Streetsboro Saturday at 4 p.m. in the district championship at Lordstown High School. Tribune Chronicle
- ➤ Mineral Ridge played Tuesday’s Division VI (district semifinal) game in Weathersfield and lost 57-40 to Waynedale after the Golden Bears made 11 3-pointers; the Rams ended their season at 20-4 with Gianna Gilbert nearly breaking the all-time assist record. Tribune Chronicle
