- ➤ Newton Falls treasure hunt hosted by Fieldview Acres Mercantile will kick off Tuesday, March 3 at noon at 36 West Broad Street. The prize chest now exceeds $25,000 and contains cash, gold coins, silver coins + jewelry as more sponsors join. WFMJ

- ➤ A locally owned car wash chain with 13 locations in Mahoning, Trumbull and Geauga counties has rebranded as Super Suds Auto Spa. Company representative Abigale Blashinsky said Wednesday the change unifies their brand while keeping local ownership and service, with the Canfield location reopening in early March. The Vindicator
- ➤ One Hot Cookie, a regionally based dessert spot, will open at Eastwood Mall in Niles in April. New owner Heather Huff, a local veteran and former store manager, said the location will serve treats seven days a week and offer DoorDash delivery to nearby residents. The Vindicator

- ➤ Acclaimed poet and teaching artist Quartez Harris led a workshop Wednesday at Volney Rogers Elementary (310 S. Schenley Ave.) for second- and third-graders, discussing his new book and civil rights history while inspiring third grader Amarion Chilton, who said all people are the same inside. The Vindicator
- ➤ School board officials met Tuesday at Youngstown Rayen Early College High School to review the district's finances. Treasurer Michael A. Rock said funding is set through FY 2029, though an expiring levy may require a new ballot, and the board honored the championship-winning Little Bears 9U team. The Vindicator

- ➤ Youngstown's board of control is expected to approve a $10,000 payment today to a former Chill-Can vice president for two North Lane Avenue parcels on the lower East Side. The purchase leaves the city owning nearly the entire former site. The Vindicator

- ➤ Trumbull County Combined Health District was honored by the Public Health Accreditation Board for meeting high standards in public health services. The recognition, announced Wednesday, places the district among 19 nationwide and shows its dedication to quality local care. WFMJ
- ➤ Mahoning County Public Health launched the Care Cabinet on Wednesday outside its Austintown office at 50 Westchester Drive; the 24/7 machine offers free life-saving supplies including naloxone, fentanyl and xylazine test strips, wound care, hygiene kits and feminine products funded by OneOhio Recovery Foundation.
