- ➤ Youngstown CityScape honored Bill Lawson and the Mahoning Valley Historical Society with the Sweet Grass Roots Award at an event held at the Tyler History Center. - ➤ A kitchen fire killed one person at a home on the 1100 Block of Burlington Street in Youngstown Thursday morning—fire crews are investigating the cause and checking if anyone else was in the house. WFMJ

- ➤ Local restaurants are using new AI technology for scheduling and phone services to recover from COVID closures and staffing challenges—some are planning St. Patrick's Day events. Ohio now has 25,000 restaurants even though customer traffic remains low in recent months. WFMJ

- ➤ A Niles man, 39-year-old Andrew Russo, pleaded guilty to child pornography charges and received a two- to three-year prison sentence—he must also register as a Tier 2 sex offender twice a year for the next 25 years. WFMJ
- ➤ The Ohio Attorney General’s office is contesting Brandon Crump’s appeal of his life sentence from a 2020 home invasion in Struthers that killed four-year-old Rowan Sweeney—witness testimony and phone data tied him to charges including aggravated murder, attempted murder, and conspiracy. WFMJ
- ➤ Kyashia D. Madison, a 29-year-old mother of four, was sentenced to 20—24 years in prison after pleading guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide in a fatal Aug 16 crash on the East Side that killed Denasia R. - ➤ Valley employers will meet job seekers at the Eastwood Event Centre inside Eastwood Mall on April 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.—Mahoning Valley Works organizes the free event and advises all participants to bring a resume to apply for part time, seasonal, full time and internship roles in manufacturing, logistics, technology and healthcare. - ➤ Federal grants (over $250,000) were given to 11 law enforcement agencies in the Valley to help stop crime, with funds reaching departments in Columbiana, Mahoning, and Trumbull counties. WFMJ
- ➤ Penny Traina, the CEO and Executive Director of Columbiana County Port Authority, announced she will retire on April 1, 2025 after 30 years of service; she thanked her board and staff for their support. The agency will continue its work on economic development after her departure. WFMJ
