- ➤ High winds caused a power outage that closed the Boardman branch of the Public Library at 7680 Glenwood Ave all day Saturday — over 800 outages were reported by 8:30 a.m. according to FirstEnergy’s map in Mahoning County. WFMJ
- ➤ The Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership in Warren is revising its strategic plan to build new single-family homes and expand emergency home repair efforts to stabilize neighborhoods and support economic growth. Leaders plan to construct up to 10 new homes within the next year as part of the initiative. WFMJ
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ A six-day Corned Beef Fest kicked off Friday at Kravitz's Deli (3135 Belmont Avenue) with an Old Dublin Fish Fry and will feature Reubens on Tuesday plus an Emerald Isle Brunch Saturday with kids' activities; owner Matthew Rydarowicz said many are now eyeing St. Patrick’s Day. WFMJ

- ➤ Genevieve Ramey (8th grader from Lincoln PK-8 in Warren) won the 93rd Annual 21WFMJ Regional Spelling Bee at Stambaugh Auditorium in Youngstown and will head to the national competition in Washington, D.C. while WBCB airs the event replay on Sunday, April 5 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. WFMJ
- ➤ Christina Saenger, Ph.D. will officially assume the dean role on April 1 after serving as interim dean since July 2025 at a local college in Youngstown, signaling a key milestone for local education. WFMJ

- ➤ Governor Mike DeWine ordered flags across Ohio to be flown at half-staff until sunset on the day of the service-members' funerals to honor three Ohio National Guard members killed during a refueling mission in Iraq as part of Operation Epic Fury. WFMJ
