CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ TCHS (Trumbull County Historical Society) acquired a new archaeological collection donated by Thomas R. Piggot in July 2025 that includes research, artifacts, field notes and photos from local excavations in the Valley; the society is now cataloging the collection and will create a dedicated room to display Piggot’s work. - ➤ Rapper Armani White headlines Federal Frenzy on April 18 from 2 to 11 p.m. downtown (presented by YSU Penguin Productions), marking his first scheduled Youngstown performance since a 2020 cancellation. - ➤ Kimberly-Clark will permanently close a section of Pine Avenue between Buron Street and Deforest Road in Howland Township on Friday, Mar. 27+ drivers will be rerouted via State Route 169, adding less than three minutes to their commute as the company prepares its $800 million manufacturing facility. - ➤ Stadium Drive Elementary in Boardman received the first Lots of Literacy award from the Ohio Lottery on March 25; the award comes with a trophy plus a $500 Barnes and Noble gift card and two bean bags to help grow the library's graphic novel collection. WFMJ
- ➤ Youngstown City School students left Tuesday on an eight-day bus trip called Sojourn to the Past, visiting key civil rights sites like the Freedom Riders Museum in Montgomery, Ala.
