- ➤ Multiple bookstores in the Mahoning Valley and neighboring counties are joining a Spring Book Crawl on Saturday, Apr. 11, where shoppers receive a stamp card to collect stamps at each store and win a prize for completing the crawl. - ➤ For 10 years, the REST program has offered free exercise classes, bingo, line dancing, and arts and crafts for residents 60 and older at the McDonald community room (across from the municipal building at 500 Ohio Avenue) and celebrated its milestone with a recent open house attended by local officials. - ➤ Mahoning County Children Services Executive Director Richard Tvaroch told advocates at the Pinwheels for Prevention breakfast in Canfield that a talk with Judge Theresa Dellick gave him the courage to join the agency. - ➤ Penguin City Brewing Company will debut its new live music room (located in the upstairs ballroom) on Saturday, May 9. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Brookfield Board of Education approved roof repairs on a 17,000 sqft community learning center, moving the project closer to an August ribbon-cutting and a 2026-27 opening.
