- ➤ After a township trustees meeting Monday, the Austintown Fire Department installed Mahoning County’s first baby box to offer a safe option for anonymous newborn surrenders. The climate-controlled box (which triggers a silent alarm within 30 seconds) will ensure quick hospital transfer. WFMJ
- ➤ On Friday morning, JFK High School Eagles baseball players helped White Oak Health Care by fixing potholes and cleaning up branches around the nursing home (near their school) in Warren. The team worked with coaches and residents during their Easter break work day. Tribune Chronicle

- ➤ OneOhio Region 7 officials discussed plans for dispersing opioid settlement funds during a meeting on Apr 6. The funds will be allocated to support regional opioid recovery services with further details to be announced soon. WFMJ
- ➤ Two interstate ramps in Girard were closed for a week starting Monday, April 6 (from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.) with detours via Salt Springs Road for drivers. The closures continue through April 14. WFMJ

- ➤ Beaver Township's shopping plaza project is on hold after Eric Ryan of JAC Management announced that a planned (12,000 sqft) facility for food and retail tenants will not move forward. Further updates on the project are expected soon. WFMJ
