CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Youngstown Police identified Nestor Diaz, 37, as the victim fatally stabbed Friday evening on the 3700 block of Tippecanoe Road in Cornersburg—police said a property dispute with Camilo Barreto, 38, who once lived with Diaz, led to the attack and Barreto was arrested in the Pittsburgh area on a murder charge and now awaits extradition to Ohio. - ➤ At a meeting on Monday, Austintown Township trustees approved more than $136,000 in accrued severance pay for police chiefs, including about $123,000 to former Chief Robert Gavalier who retired after a 44-year career.
