- ➤ Community members in Poland are urging officials to keep the library while the Buildings and Sites Committee meets Thursday at the Newport Branch to review renovation versus relocation options — a board recommendation will be made on April 29. The Vindicator
- ➤ County library officials announced that the Howland Library will be renovated to add a dedicated children’s room, private study areas and a teen zone — along with upgrades to the roof, flooring and drainage, all funded by its capital budget. Bids go out mid-April and construction will begin in June — with the library open for two months before a six‑month closure. Tribune Chronicle
- ➤ Mill Creek MetroParks reopens several roads for spring, including High Drive from Chestnut Hill to West Cohasset and Chestnut Hill Drive from Canfield to High Drive (also Calvary Run Road). The park reminds drivers, walkers, and cyclists to share the routes responsibly. WFMJ

- ➤ The Ohio EPA issued a stormwater permit for CSX’s parking lot expansion at the Lordstown Automotive Facility. Construction on the stormwater system will begin May 15 at 2252 Lyntz Townline Road SW (the planning commission had rejected the project last Sept. 8). The Vindicator

- ➤ Downtown Youngstown hosts the free Summer Movie Series on the Covelli Centre front lawn at 229 East Front Street, starting June 22 until August 10. Movies begin at 9 p.m. each week with rain dates rescheduled to the following evening. WFMJ
- ➤ The America 250 series will trace our nation’s 250-year history by highlighting local communities including Youngstown’s role in industrial growth through a journey from early frontier days to modern milestones. The series will run over the next three months and invites us to explore our shared heritage. Tribune Chronicle

- ➤ Leslie Huff reported that Ohio farmers faced a challenging start to planting season yesterday as officials noted supply issues+uncertainty amid the conflict in Iran. They adjusted strategies in response to disruptions affecting local agriculture. WFMJ

- ➤ Oak Hill Collaborative is hosting its third annual e-waste collection drive on Friday, April 10 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 507 Oak Hill Avenue for safe electronic disposal + GreenBoard IT will securely wipe data and dispose of hazardous materials. WFMJ

- ➤ A 10-year project in the Golden Triangle is nearing completion today at key intersections near Larchmont, Bronze Road, and Paige and Dana Streets as new pavement, sidewalks, signage and over 2,000 feet of storm and sewer lines are set to ease truck traffic for local businesses. WFMJ
- ➤ Military drills will take place at Camp Garfield from Thursday through Sunday as the Ohio Army National Guard’s 811th Engineer Company prepares to run exercises. Residents near the training center should expect more blasts during the drills. WFMJ
