- ➤ Bryan Tedesco, mayor and longtime Second Ward Councilman, passed unexpectedly at his Campbell home last Wednesday at age 67, and hundreds gathered Tuesday at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish for his burial Mass—he is survived by his wife Monica and two sons. WKBN

- ➤ #1 Cochran is growing in the Valley and is hiring for several roles, including sales, service advisors, and a service manager. Steve Tirabassi said the firm provides training for those with no experience at its eight local stores and also has openings in western Pennsylvania — interested candidates can apply online or in person. - ➤ Fred Moran and Window World donated $300,000 Tuesday to the Ursuline Sisters to fund renovations that will convert their motherhouse into a licensed assisted living facility with 45 units—one lobby is named in honor of Lucy Moran, whose passing in January sparked the tribute. WYTV

- ➤ Youngstown Municipal Court Judge Renee DiSalvo met with City Council on Monday to lay the groundwork for a new Mental Health Diversion Program—designed to help people in mental health crises avoid jail—and to set plans for a May 2 meeting with major stakeholders. The Vindicator
- ➤ Mill Creek MetroParks and Trumbull County MetroParks will get over $600,000 from a statewide grant (worth $16 million) given by the Ohio Public Works Commission; Trumbull County will spend $500,787 to extend the Braceville Nature Preserve and Mill Creek will use $150,000 to fix up the Mill Creek Wildlife Sanctuary in Beaver Township (detailed funding split). - ➤ Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said he will urge the CDC to stop recommending fluoride in drinking water because he believes toothpaste and mouthwash are enough for dental care—local data show that fluoride levels vary, with 61% in Trumbull County, 33% in Mahoning, and 90% in Columbiana while Youngstown’s water is adjusted to the optimum level for dental health. - ➤ Today the Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corp. is building three duplexes at 3013, 3021 and 3031 Glenwood Ave. that will be the first all-electric units in the city with onsite solar panels to lower utility bills. Each duplex costs about $425,000 to build—funding comes from Affordable Housing Programs from two Federal Home Loan Banks and Mahoning County and these new units join two duplexes completed last September.
