  • The 13th annual Wine for Hope fundraiser drew a packed crowd to Waypoint 4180 in Canfield as Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley raised funds to help local kids and their families pay medical bills. Josh Frketic served as master of ceremonies and founder Anthony Spano said generous donors made the event a success— the group plans to celebrate 20 years in 2027.  WKBN
  • The Elm Road Drive-In in Warren opened Friday night for the season after a weather delay — it celebrated 75 years in business and showed three pairs of movies with gates opening at 7 p.m. and films starting at 8:30 p.m.  WKBN

  • Local Big Lots stores will reopen next month under new owner Variety Wholesalers; the Champion and Boardman stores (opening May 1) and the New Castle store (opening May 15) will resume operations.  WYTV

CRIME NEWS

  • A man on East Judson Avenue said he woke after midnight Thursday to change his child's diaper when he heard gunfire, later finding four bullet holes in his home and a bullet slug on the couch — police collected shell casings from the street.  WKBN
  • Two men were indicted by a Mahoning County grand jury for the Jan. 24 shooting death of Resean Graham when he was found shot around 7 p.m. inside a home in the 2700 block of Griselda Avenue—Kenneth Carter, 34, and Terry Hopkins, 22, have been held in jail since their arrests.  WKBN
  • Mahoning County grand jury indicted 22—Isaac Bethel on two counts of felonious assault and one count of improper discharge of a firearm after he allegedly fired at a car on Feb. 26 in the 3300 block of Hudson Avenue where a 40-year-old man and his 18-year-old daughter were inside; witnesses saw him run and police later caught him at the corner of Mistletoe and Glenwood avenues while he was held in jail on a $100,000 bond.  WKBN
