- ➤ Angels for Animals will host its annual garage sale at the Canfield Fairgrounds from Friday, April 17 to Sunday, April 19. Early bird sales begin at 9 a.m. Friday and donations are accepted on April 11 and 12 (call 330-549-1111 ext. 146 for large pickups). WFMJ
- ➤ Young bakers Gloria and Israel—ages 12 and 10—sold homemade sourdough and rosemary focaccia at Youngstown Flea on Saturday, using their family recipe. The siblings plan to expand to a brick-and-mortar bakery as they aim to fund a week-long camp. WFMJ
- ➤ Hermitage Walmart shoppers donated nonperishable food and cleaning supplies at the Mercer County Food Bank's Stuff the Truck event to help residents facing food insecurity, and the Food Bank received a $10,000 grant from the GBU Foundation that will fund about 20,000 meals. WFMJ
- ➤ The Mercer County Food Bank held its 'Stuff the Truck' donation drive in Hermitage on Apr. 11 — it will use a recently won $10,000 grant to expand its food programs. WFMJ

- ➤ Student engineers from 20 universities competed at YSU on Saturday at the ASCE Student Symposium (held at Stambaugh Gymnasium) where they built 20-foot steel bridges to support 2,500 lbs and exchanged design ideas. WFMJ

- ➤ Columbiana County Humane Society is asking residents for help after discovering cattle remains at 11 a.m. Saturday in West Pointe; humane agents found three Herefords in various stages of decay and notified the EPA about possible water contamination near McCormick Run Road. WFMJ

- ➤ The Miami Heat waived Terry Rozier on Friday amid his federal gambling charges; the team has until Sunday to sign a replacement before postseason play. Tribune Chronicle
