- ➤ At the Hope Foundation’s 13th annual event in Canfield, five community leaders were honored for their work. Warren resident Bernadette Bilick was chosen as the 2025 Hope Award for Lifetime Achievement Honoree for 41 years of service at the Northeast Ohio Children’s Rehabilitation Center—others were recognized for work in education, social work and community programs. - ➤ Police are investigating a car and motorcycle crash near the intersection of Hillman Street and West Earle Avenue that occurred at 10:30 p.m. Sunday night and left one person in critical condition. WYTV

- ➤ YSU’s Pakistani Indian Student Association hosted Bollywood Bash on Sunday—an event celebrating South Asian culture that featured dances, music and food for around 300 students in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center. WYTV
- ➤ On April 3rd, 1919, Warren police chief Frank H. Flowers was killed when a Packard car struck a streetcar on Niles Avenue while he and Youngstown police chief Watkins were returning with an unidentified woman—Flowers served 25 years and is honored on memorial walls in London, Washington, and locally. - ➤ At East High School, the JROTC program helped shy students become strong leaders; 17-year-old Yelian Seda is now battalion commander for 120 cadets. The program also helped cadets like Kevon Gastell Johnson and Jensen Delgado set new goals for careers in the Army Reserve and healthcare—teaching them discipline, teamwork, and good citizenship. - ➤ The village has updated its policy on door-to-door soliciting, requiring all peddlers and canvassers to register at the administration building, complete background checks, and pay a permit fee—school and church groups are exempt and solicitation is allowed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Mayor Ray Lewis said a local developer will help market a long-vacant bank building next to the building and a donated scoreboard will be installed at the baseball field once the schools, baseball association, and the village arrange the necessary power, with the project expected to be ready in 2026. - ➤ Braceville officials said the Trumbull County Engineer’s Office is closing Bailey Anderson Road today through Wednesday for railroad track removal and urges drivers to follow a detour (east on Route 82, northeast on Benedict Leavittsburg Road, north on Allen Smith Road, and west on Nelson Moser Road). The office also said Benedict Leavittsburg Road will be closed Thursday through Saturday with a detour (southeast on Route 82, north on Diehl South Road, northeast on Park Road, and northwest on Nelson Moser Road). - ➤ Today the village updated its door-to-door soliciting policy by requiring all peddlers and canvassers to register at the administration building with a permit fee and background check—school and church groups are exempt while residents who do not want solicitors are advised to post no soliciting signs.
