A wanted man surrendered Tuesday at a motel on Market Street when police K‑9 Jack—helped by officers from Boardman and Youngstown—spurred him to comply with arrest orders related to parole violations for aggravated robbery and assault.

Ohio Lt-Gov Jim Tressel will attend a groundbreaking for a new 13,000-square-foot Health and Wellness Center at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center in Canfield on Wednesday; the center will be partly funded by over $5 million from the Appalachian Community Innovation Centers Grant Program and will provide mental, physical and career technical services to more than 6,500 residents annually with construction finishing by August 2026.
