- ➤ Several West Farmington residents on Old State and Girdle Road have been without well water for months. One resident said her well has been dry for nearly eight months, leaving neighbors to use rainwater systems and store-bought water while a local drilling company investigates a possible source issue from a nearby community. - ➤ Catholic Charities held its Voice of Hope dinner on Thursday, April 30 to honor award recipients and raise funds for basic needs in the region. The event helped over 36,000 locals in 2025 (with plans to merge agencies by 2027), reinforcing their commitment to community support. WFMJ
- ➤ Mahoning Valley Scrappers will host a hiring event on May 7 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 7/17 Credit Union Field at Eastwood in Niles, offering various game day positions with benefits; applicants should bring two forms of identification and complete an application beforehand. WFMJ

- ➤ Kimberly-Clark is set to begin operations at a new 1 million-sqft facility in Niles that will serve 117 million customers once complete. Construction began in May 2025 at a 560-acre site and the plant will add nearly 500 local jobs in the next few years. The Vindicator

- ➤ With gas above $4, drivers consider Unleaded 88, a 15% ethanol blend safe for vehicles from 2001 (it may lower fuel economy by 2%). Local Sheetz locations in Austintown, Boardman, and North Lima offer the fuel at a lower price. WFMJ
- ➤ On April 30, 2026, local gas stations in Boardman and across Mahoning Valley charged prices as high as $4.99/gal, a rate that surged 49 cents above the previous week due to refinery disruptions (AAA said the spike might ease in a few weeks). WFMJ

- ➤ On Thursday morning, Trumbull County Schools held an Honors Breakfast at The Grand Resort to celebrate 89 graduating students from 20 public high schools.
