- ➤ Just before 7 a.m. on Monday, a fatal head-on crash occurred on Route 422 in Coitsville—state troopers reported that a van and a SUV collided near King’s Motel on McCartney Road, killing one person and sending another to a hospital while the westbound lane is closed and eastbound traffic continues to flow. - ➤ A year after the Realty Tower explosion in April 2024, Youngstown Stambaugh Hotel LLC and Youngstown Stambaugh Parking Holdings filed a suit in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court seeking over $1 million for damages not covered by insurance after a gas line was accidentally cut during scrap work. The lawsuit names several defendants (YO Properties 47, LY Property Management, Greenheart Companies, East Ohio Gas Co. dba Enbridge Gas Ohio, and Travelers Indemnity Co. of Connecticut) and alleges negligence and strict liability. - ➤ Eric Rivers, 51, pleaded guilty in January to selling drugs from a house on Charles Avenue in Warren and was sentenced Monday to more than nine years in federal prison by U.S. Judge Christopher A. Boyko following a March 6 indictment for selling cocaine, crack cocaine & fentanyl between September and November 2021. WKBN
- ➤ Youngstown mayoral candidate John White, who has over 35 convictions, faced felony charges—disrupting public service and domestic violence—after he damaged property at his Liberty home on Friday when his eligibility was questioned; his preliminary hearing is set for 1:30 p.m. May 14 in Girard Municipal Court.
