BUSINESS NEWS

  • Roche Diagnostics Corporation filed a breach of contract lawsuit for $294,646.55 against Insight Foundation of Trumbull in federal court in the Northern District of Ohio. The lawsuit was filed last Friday—while bankruptcy issues have stalled payments and Insight has not yet replied.  WYTV

CRIME NEWS

  • Liberty police are searching for 15-year-old Lashunay Miller, last seen wearing a maroon and black hoodie and tan bubble shoes — who uses the WRTA system and visits Niles and Warren — and they ask anyone with information to call Trumbull county dispatch at 330-675-2730.  WFMJ
  • Youngstown police cited Brooke Sakmar for driving under suspension, running a red light and holding an expired registration after a late Tuesday morning crash at Oakwood — North Hazelwood that sent a gray Chevrolet into a telephone pole and left 237 customers without power.  WFMJ
  • Police responded at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday near the WRTA station at 340 W. Federal St. after witnesses reported that a cyclist stabbed a man, and the victim was seen walking on Commerce Street with a bleeding shoulder and missing bag—he was taken by ambulance while the cyclist was questioned and released pending further investigation.  WKBN

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Trumbull County Board of Elections released incomplete, unofficial results from the May 6 primary that show vote counts for local council races and ballot measures—final tallies and endorsements are still pending.  Tribune Chronicle

HEALTH NEWS

  • Panera locations will donate $1 from each Chocolate Chipper cookie sold at 21 Covelli-operated stores from May 12 to May 18 to support a community outreach coordinator who provides school-based mental health resources for students impacted by traumatic events—this third annual campaign in partnership with Akron Children’s Hospital has already raised nearly $100,000 since 2022.  WFMJ
