- ➤ Panera Bread launched its third annual Chip in for Children’s Mental Health campaign yesterday, with $1 from every Chocolate Chipper cookie sold funding a community outreach education coordinator from Akron Children’s Hospital who helps teachers, counselors and staff use social and emotional learning resources for students affected by trauma—campaign runs through Sunday at Covelli-owned bakery-cafes in Akron, Canton and the Mahoning Valley. - ➤ A 9-year-old Daw Elementary student was riding his bicycle when a Ford F-150 driven by a Lisbon resident struck and killed him Saturday at 5:45 p.m. at the end of a private drive off state Route 7 in Madison Township—emergency responders and grief counselors have arrived to support Wellsville Schools. - ➤ Country star Lee Brice—who has eight chart-topping hits—will perform at Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre on Sept. 18, marking his return after a 2023 show supporting Kid Rock. - ➤ Drivers on Mahoning Avenue between Meridian Road and Interstate 680 are facing delays from a paving project that started May 12 and will continue through June 30 (with lane restrictions in effect).
