- ➤ During Period Poverty Awareness Week (May 11 to 17), the Raymond John Wean Foundation is donating period products to non-profit Sisters Welcome All Generations in Warren; the group began its drive on May 15 and accepts donations at Grace AME Church as it also plans hygiene workshops for community education. - ➤ Full Spectrum Community Outreach Center hosts its 10th anniversary fundraiser dinner today from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 660 W Earle Ave in Youngstown, offering a pasta dinner with tickets at $12 for adults, $10 for children and $1 for toddlers, with take-out orders available by calling 330-718-1859. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Youngstown council will consider ordinances next week to remove three low-head dams on the Mahoning River—this plan caps dam removal costs at $6.125 million and allocates up to $200,000 for land easements. If approved with six votes, construction on the cleanup project will begin mid-2027. WFMJ
