- ➤ Several communities in Trumbull County will hold Memorial Day events from Friday through Monday to honor veterans. Niles will host a choir concert from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday—other towns will have parades, ceremonies, and flag placements with guest speakers and services scheduled throughout the weekend. - ➤ A former Liberty Local Schools employee—Luke Polito, 35 from Poland—was charged with felony vandalism and misdemeanor theft after he took a desktop computer from a classroom on May 9, dropped it from his car, and disposed of it in a recycling dumpster, with his court appearance set for May 27. - ➤ Tyran P. Madison, 26, from Schenley Avenue in Youngstown was arrested at 6:30 a.m. Sunday on Hopkins Road when his car hit a road sign and crashed into a ditch near his apartment—he now faces charges of OVI, refusing a sobriety field test, driving without a valid license, failure to control, obstruction and resisting arrest. - ➤ Led by Spencer Charnas, Ice Nine Kills will perform its Hell of a Summer tour at the Covelli Centre on Aug. 28th in Youngstown — supported by Dayseeker, Kim Dracula and The Funeral Portrait. - ➤ At Liberty Elementary PK-6 School, about 20 sixth-grade students used Meta Quest headsets in a Monday science class to journey virtually to an African savannah and explore a shark tank.
