- ➤ A driver evacuated three Youngstown City School students from a transport van that caught fire early Friday before 8:30 a.m. on the 2100 block of McGuffey Road — the Youngstown Fire Department quickly put out the flames as district officials said a mechanical issue caused the blaze and an investigation will follow while the students were taken to their home school. - ➤ A limousine from Boardman carrying Pittsburgh Pirates fans collided with a pickup truck on Thursday, May 22 at 4:48 p.m. in Darlington Township when a 17-year-old driver failed to yield—injuring eight people and closing State Route 51 for more than three hours. WFMJ
- ➤ On May 28th, 2024, a natural gas explosion rocked the Chase Bank branch at Realty Tower in downtown Youngstown and injured several employees while killing co-worker Akil Drake — a contract worker’s cut on a gas line triggered the blast as emergency crews rescued survivors and began cleanup. - ➤ Lahsen Ismael Boukrab, 33, was indicted by a grand jury for allegedly running over a man's legs on Dec. 13 near Commerce and North Phelps streets after a red Lexus hit a crowd at 2:20 a.m.—he faces two counts of felonious assault and failure to stop after an accident. WYTV
