- ➤ Simply Slavic has announced a scholarship for YSU students; eligible undergraduates and graduates (with more than a freshman year) must submit a 500-word essay on how Slavic heritage has shaped their lives, and two winners will receive $1,000 each if they apply by Friday, July 15 with winners announced mid-August. - ➤ Chaney High School's final class walked the stage on Wednesday, May 27, ending a century-long solo operation as it merges with East High to form Youngstown High next year. East graduates will hold a ceremony on Tuesday, June 2, at 10:00 a.m. at Stambaugh Auditorium + officials expect improved opportunities. WFMJ

- ➤ SOBE Thermal is facing a financial collapse as it will not have enough funds to pay for three rented boilers by September or October+ risking loss of downtown heat service.
