  • At the 6th annual Mahoning Valley Warrior at the Canfield Fairgrounds, families gathered to support autism awareness and inclusion. The Autism Society of the Mahoning Valley hosted a day of activities including bounce houses, a sensory-friendly inflatable village and a special needs resource fair that raised nearly $8,000 for autism programs.  WFMJ
  • On Saturday, flowers were placed at the Niles Plaza Memorial in Niles to honor victims of the tornado outbreak on May 31—an event that destroyed nearly 70 homes and took nine lives.   • Healthy Hearts and Paws Project said that Spud, an emaciated dog found on Friday in Warren and surrendered after police discovered him on North Leavitt Road, was taken to a hospital in Niles and was expected to be released Saturday afternoon while charges for animal cruelty against his former owners may be filed— the organization is urgently seeking a medical foster for him.  WFMJ
  • Police issued an endangered missing child alert for 17-year-old Isabella Phillips due to concerns for her safety—Phillips was last seen on May 25 in New Sewickley wearing grey sweatpants and a grey coat while carrying a flower print backpack and driving a black 2019 GMC Canyon on State Route 30 near Mansfield, with the alert covering parts of Pennsylvania and Ohio.  WFMJ
  • Annie Griffin went missing in September 2002 and her body was found in garbage bags at a dumping site at Carson Street and Cantwell Avenue on the East Side—details that shocked the area—and her daughter, Annitra, now living in Columbus, said she still feels her mother's presence and wants those responsible prosecuted.  WYTV

  • On Saturday, the Warren JFK Eagles won their fifth straight baseball district title with a 9—1 win over Kidron Central Christian in New Middletown. The victory secures their spot in the regional tournament and the team will face Ashtabula St. John in the semifinal on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Oberlin.  The Vindicator
  • Boardman beat Louisville 3-1 on Saturday at Kent State’s Devine Diamond to win its first regional title since 2002—after a sixth-inning rally sparked a season that brought a conference title share and a district championship.
