- ➤ Today the Greater Youngstown Community Mobilization Coalition is hosting a Legislative and Policy Virtual Forum at 6:30 p.m. on Facebook—attendees must sign into the Zoom room for questions—and the community has several upcoming events including a Scouting America breakfast fundraiser on June 10 at the Lake Club in Poland, summer camps at the Career & Technical Center starting June 9, a Simply Slavic baking contest at 1 p.m. Saturday with entries due today at Krakus Polish Deli & Bakery, a Family Fun Walk at Boardman Park on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon, Helping Hands Closet Tuesdays at Western Reserve United Methodist Church, plus a Gathering Place event with guest speaker Roxann Seabest at 11 a.m. on June 9 at Lord of Life Lutheran Church. - ➤ Last Saturday in Warren, Packard Park hosted a tribute as volunteers laid roses at the Wall That Heals Vietnam Veterans Memorial for 61 local fallen. Veterans and local leaders—including Medal of Honor recipient Ken David—shared stories of bravery that united the community. Tribune Chronicle
- ➤ More than 800 volunteers gathered on Saturday for Youngstown’s 28th annual Streetscape Planting Day as they planted over 800 flowers—including begonias, petunias, snapdragons, and zinnias—to make downtown look nicer. - ➤ Youngstown Fire and Police Departments responded to a two-car crash at the intersection of Bears Den Road and Canfield Road (no injuries or major car damage reported) that blocked Bears Den Road as officers redirected traffic. WFMJ

- ➤ Lita Ford headlined the Rock The Rich Center concert at the Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre today to mark the center’s 30 years and support its programs—local group the Vindys performed and event ambassador Lindsey Watson helped spotlight the fundraiser. WKBN
- ➤ Members of Mount Calvary Pentecostal Church in Youngstown held a celebration on Saturday for Bishop Shawn Tyson’s 15th pastoral anniversary and his 60th birthday. The bishop recalled his five-year fight with kidney failure—where his creatinine level dropped from 16.8 to nearly normal—and said only God could help him recover. WYTV
