Dude’s Chicken opened Monday, June 1 at 10 a.m. in Liberty Township at 3225 Belmont Ave. The new restaurant offers halal dishes like rice bowls, shawarma, and loaded fries combos and celebrated its debut with a ribbon cutting attended by local Chamber members.

Girard school officials approved a shared services deal with Liberty to share a bus mechanic, effective July 1 to June 30, 2027.

Transportation officials reported highway projects affected travel in Mahoning and Trumbull counties.

In Mahoning, the ramp from State Route 46 to westbound Interstate 80 closed Monday until early August while in Trumbull, U.S. Route 62 work caused lane restrictions and detours with southbound State Route 7 closed until early July.

Regular drivers on Market Street in Youngstown will face one-lane restrictions starting today due to an emergency sewer repair between Breaden Street and Falls Avenue; the lane reduction impacts both directions and will remain in effect for about one week.
