Forty years ago, on June 10, 1986, the John Stark Edwards House moved from South Street to Monroe Street in downtown Warren as city crews lowered power lines and managed traffic, with volunteers later restoring the building after a ceiling collapse halted operations for nearly a year.
LOOP Youngstown Arts & Culture dedicated its new home at 805 Mahoning Ave last Sunday, giving artists a permanent space to work, collaborate, and show their talents.
The nonprofit plans to host workshops, gallery shows, and community events as it improves the facility and builds the local creative hub.

Niles city officials announced on Monday they received a $402,500 federal grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission to upgrade power infrastructure for BRT Extrusions Inc. at 1818 N.
Main Street, with a $172,500 local match, paving the way for two new press lines and 30 new jobs.
🌲 Environment
The Ohio EPA issued a Notice of Violation after Carbon Limestone Landfill spilled 191,000 gallons of hazardous wastewater in Lowellville when heavy rain breached soil dams in May.
The facility must submit a corrective action plan by July 2 as its on-site gas wells recorded temperatures above 150 degrees.

The Ohio EPA issued Cardinal Laboratories a violation notice for not reporting the East Palestine Village water test from January through March, including the radium 228 test due on Feb.

Bristolville 25 Developer LLC and BHGH Properties LLC filed a motion on Monday with the Ohio Supreme Court in Lordstown to block an extension of the 180-day pause on data center applications that could delay their September start as the village plans a June 15 public hearing.
