- ➤ Warren-Trumbull County Public Library officials announced the new branch will open inside Eastwood Mall’s JCPenney concourse in September—offering books, internet computers, Wi-Fi and programs for children, teens and adults. - ➤ A traffic accident near the Giant Eagle on Mahoning Avenue in Austintown caused a pickup truck to be rear-ended and led to two people being taken to a hospital before 8 a.m. Friday. WFMJ

- ➤ A Trumbull County grand jury did not indict John White, a mayoral candidate from Youngstown, on fourth-degree felony charges from an incident on May 2 in Liberty where he was arrested for a domestic disturbance on Tibbetts Wick Road — White said no violence occurred. WYTV
- ➤ Youngstown police continue to urge anonymous tips as Crime Stoppers revives its role by opening a new headquarters at Oak Hill Renaissance Center—Mahoning County Commissioners approved a $1 lease last Thursday—and new president John Leseganich said the office will host board meetings, podcasts, and an enhanced reward plan to help solve serious cases. - ➤ A new Eastwood Mall Library branch will open on September 2 to provide shoppers with books, computer access, and programming for all ages. - ➤ A consultant hired by Canfield Local Schools proposed that the district conduct periodic groundwater testing on the high school property if the Ohio EPA does not order Material Sciences Corp. to do it, following April tests that did not find trichloroethylene.
