Yesterday, the Braceville Historical Society and the Mary Chesney Chapter of the DAR hosted a bench memorial ceremony at Braceville Cemetery to honor 18 Revolutionary War veterans on Flag Day—marking the US 250th anniversary with headstone cleaning and local history insights.
The Show & Shine Car Show kicked off on Sunday, June 14 at the Salem Super Cruise, drawing local car fans with vendor exhibits and planned activities as the cruise ended.
Organizers offered a final-day schedule for visitors to enjoy.
Descendants of Revolutionary War soldiers gathered on Sunday at the renovated Covenanter Cemetery near Kirk and Lipkey roads in North Jackson to unveil new markers and honor local heritage, with Gary Gault (whose great-great-great-grandfather served) expressing appreciation for the upgrades.

The Ohio 250 BioBlitz at Mosquito Lake State Park happened Saturday with over 60 naturalists using the iNaturalist app (documenting species including the invasive Tree of Heaven) as part of America250 festivities.
