- ➤ Grocery Outlet Bargain Market in Boardman will launch its second annual 'Independence for Hunger' campaign on June 25 to support the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley — shoppers can donate $5 at checkout to get a $5 coupon for purchases of $25 or more, and all funds raised will be used to buy needed food items. - ➤ The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County branches will serve as cooling spaces from June 23 to June 25 during the heat advisory—visitors can use meeting rooms, air conditioning, drinking water and library materials to beat the heat. WFMJ
- ➤ WKBN/WYTV employees are partnering with Habitat for Humanity to rehab a home on Lansdowne Boulevard in Youngstown for a local family as part of Founder’s Day of Caring in June. The home is about 65—70% complete and will be finished by December so the family can move in before Christmas. WKBN

- ➤ A crew working on Gypsy Lane hit a gas line Friday morning and the fire department waited for the gas company while no one was hurt or evacuated—roads remain open. WKBN

- ➤ Terrance King, 25, was arrested Tuesday around 3:10 a.m. in Warren after police observed him dragging a woman on a sidewalk (he faces charges of abduction, assault, violating a temporary protection order, and obstructing official business) and will have a preliminary hearing Tuesday before Judge Natasha Natale. - ➤ Youngstown police arrested three men during drug raids on Wednesday—seizing four guns, fentanyl, crack cocaine and cash from homes on the East and North Sides. WKBN
- ➤ Youngstown police arrested 83-year-old Charles Ratliff after he forced his way into a Market Street apartment and pulled a knife during an argument over a woman—he is scheduled for arraignment Friday in municipal court on an aggravated burglary charge. WKBN

- ➤ The 4 Star Diner in Cortland was featured on an episode of Gordon Ramsay’s Secret Service that premiered earlier in 2025 on FOX and Hulu—showing how Ramsay goes undercover in small town restaurants and overhauls their operations, though producers have not set an air date for the episode. WFMJ
