- ➤ Austin Young, 37, was wanted for domestic violence and strangulation charges and was found Wednesday evening on the second floor of a home on West Boston Avenue on the South Side—he was taken into custody without incident and is set to appear in municipal court today. WKBN

- ➤ Celebrate Poland is hosting events today at 5 p.m. with the Strawberry Festival at Poland Presbyterian and a concert by RDNA — on Saturday, activities will run from 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. with a fireworks show — and organizers are also planning a big 20th anniversary celebration next year. WYTV

- ➤ The Women’s Auxiliary at Trumbull Memorial Hospital donated over $80,000 to Kent State University at Trumbull’s nursing program — the funds will establish a scholarship endowment, upgrade lab equipment, and support professional development for local nursing students. - ➤ Crews responded on June 26th at 9 a.m. to a major water line break on Youngstown’s South Side—forcing Glenwood Avenue near West Boston Avenue to close one lane. Officials said the cause was unknown and repairs were expected to take a few hours. WKBN
- ➤ County Prosecutor Lynn A. Maro warned Mahoning Valley residents about online and phone scams at a town hall meeting Wednesday at Roosevelt Park—she advised secure check handling and caution when dealing with unexpected calls and texts. Mayor George Levendis hosted the event while criminal division chief John B. Juhasz Jr. explained Ohio’s concealed-carry law and safe practices during traffic stops. The Vindicator
- ➤ U.S. District Judge Pearson removed Kroll’s proposed explanation from the court file after the company was replaced in managing funds for East Palestine derailment victims. Victims’ attorneys may file a motion to hold Kroll in contempt after an independent audit reviews its payment calculations—Kroll had asked for a chance to defend itself, but the judge ruled its explanation unnecessary.
