Struthers held a ribbon-cutting for a new splash pad at Mauthe Park yesterday as funding from the Ohio Capital Budget and donations from Rudzik Excavating kept the project on track amid hot weather.

The splash pad now complements local playgrounds, walking trails and a disc golf course for family fun.

The Howland Rotary Club unveiled a peace pole at Orwig Park today, where guests enjoyed food, live music, and readings from the Declaration of Independence while the monument displays messages in English, Chinese, Italian, and Spanish (highlighting Rotary’s commitment to peace).

The 53rd annual Mesopotamia Ox Roast kicked off Friday, July 3 at the intersection of State Routes 534 and 87.

It will run all weekend with over 160 vendors, live entertainment, and roast beef sandwiches and fries, benefiting the Mesopotamia Volunteer Fire Department with free parking at the fire station.
