- ➤ A local rodeo family celebrated 40 years in business with Hoppel’s Championship Rodeo returning in Lisbon this Fourth of July weekend — drawing over 3,000 fans to eight events and honoring the legacy of Carl Hoppel and his sons Todd and Doug. WYTV
- ➤ Mesopotamia kicked off its 51st annual Ox Roast this weekend at the intersection of state Routes 534 and 87, drawing crowds with food, performances, and 160 vendors selling antiques, clothing, and homemade treats. Tyler Miller from the Mesopotamia Volunteer Fire Department said the event helps fund equipment — trucks and other essentials — and it runs until 4 p.m. today. WKBN
- ➤ Paisley Garrett ran a lemonade stand in Struthers on Saturday and chose to donate the money raised to St. Jude Hospital because of her aunt who died of cancer + the stand raised over $350 and she plans more fundraisers in the future. WKBN

- ➤ Firefighters in Trumbull County said discarded fireworks thrown at 10:30 p.m. Friday on Stonegate Drive in Bazetta Township sparked a garage fire that spread to its wall—residents’ attempts to put out the flames failed before a neighbor called for help. WKBN

- ➤ Doctors warn that leaving a child in a car even for a few minutes can be deadly since its inside temperature can rise 20 degrees in ten minutes — about 37 children have died each year from heat stroke in these conditions. WKBN
