- ➤ Mill Creek MetroParks will host Bug Day at Ford Nature Center, 840 Old Furnace Road, Youngstown, on July 19 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. where visitors will see free insect exhibits, bug-catching activities & a Bad Bug Forest Walk. - ➤ Isabella Repucci pleaded guilty in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court on Friday for felonious assault—she is accused of wounding a man in the leg with a firearm at Compass West Apartments on April 30 and faces a five- to six-year sentence. WYTV
- ➤ Daniel Whitley, a 33-year-old from East Liverpool, was indicted on counts of aggravated murder, murder and tampering with evidence over the May 15 shooting death of James Powell related to a love triangle—his arraignment is set for July 31 at 1 p.m. WFMJ
- ➤ The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Warren Post investigated a fatal collision near Salt Springs Road — Division Street after a trooper chased a speeding 2007 Yamaha from Trumbull County on Thursday evening and the motorcyclist Adam Mihely died when his motorcycle crashed into a Ford Mustang. - ➤ Today, Youngstown State University holds its Summer Festival of the Arts on campus with food trucks, two performance stages and over 100 vendors (the festival moved from Wean Park). Organizers planned the event since last October (university leaders wanted its return) and it will run until 6 p.m. today then continue Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. WYTV

- ➤ Sheehan Brothers Vending is recalling vending machine food items in Ohio, northern Kentucky and eastern Indiana due to an undeclared sesame allergen found during an Ohio Department of Agriculture inspection; the recalled products include cheeseburgers—spicy chicken sandwiches, Italian mini subs, pepperoni pizza subs, chili cheese coney and BBQ riblet with coleslaw sold from July 2 to July 8, and anyone with a sesame allergy should discard the items and contact the vendor. - ➤ The FDA announced that Lewis Bake Shop Artisan Style 1/2 Loaf bread+ sold at Walmart and Kroger in states including Ohio+ is recalled after tests found it may contain undeclared hazelnuts that can cause severe allergic reactions, so customers with nut allergies should return the product for a full refund.
