  • A local family in Austintown held a fundraiser on Saturday to honor their late family members and raise money for veteran suicide prevention by hosting a raffle for Adopt a Soldier — 22 Too Many. The event has been held annually since 2023 in memory of Jen Costello and Marine Corps veteran Jake Crewson, with past events raising over $1,000 for each group.  WYTV
  • Residents watched a candlelight vigil held Saturday night by the Mahoning Valley Freedom Fighters in front of the Mahoning County Courthouse—honoring past protestors and standing for freedom and justice. The group will march downtown at 6 p.m. on July 17 to continue its peaceful protest.  WYTV

  • Doctors say low testosterone can cause tiredness, muscle loss and a lower sex drive in men, with causes including obesity, cancer treatment or testicle damage. Dr. Raevti Bole of Cleveland Clinic warns that unregulated supplements claiming to boost testosterone may be harmful—patients should get tested and speak with their doctor.  WKBN

SPORTS NEWS

  • Each Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m., the Wellsville High School Gym hosts four basketball games in the Old Heads Basketball League where adults aged 21 and older compete on eight teams with personalized jerseys. Coach Jaimon Edison planned the league for over three years and runs livestreams—profits are reinvested while a championship is set for Aug. 10 with plans for four new teams next season.  WYTV
