- ➤ On Wednesday morning, summer campers from Promise Community-Hub cleaned streets from the corner of Hillman and Myrtle to Falls Avenue—working two hours in 90 degree heat. The campers joined local groups and businesses to learn how to care for their community. WYTV
- ➤ The Warren-Trumbull County Public Library System will open its new branch at Eastwood Mall on September 2 at 5555 Youngstown-Warren Rd., offering movies, computers, printers & programs free with a library card. A ribbon-cutting ceremony and celebration with special events will mark the grand opening throughout the month. WYTV

- ➤ Authorities identified 40-year-old Yusuf Aden of Hopkins, Minnesota as the pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run on July 23 at 10:30 p.m. on Ohio Machinery Boulevard in Weathersfield Township—investigators have not yet identified the semi truck driver. WYTV
- ➤ Youngstown police stopped Robert Howell, 54, at about 4:45 p.m. at Springdale and Berkley avenues for running a stop sign and discovered large amounts of crack cocaine hidden in his pockets and a shoe—he is now in Mahoning County jail and will be arraigned later Wednesday on a charge of possession of cocaine, a first-degree felony. - ➤ Trumbull County commissioners announced Wednesday that Foxconn will add up to 800 jobs at its facility while a new JEDD lets Kimberly-Clark plan facilities that may create hundreds of additional positions. Officials said the total boost will bring jobs to between 1,200 and 1,400 with wages averaging $30 per hour + construction and support work expected to follow. The Vindicator

- ➤ Howland Township trustees approved a joint economic development district on July 30 to support the Kimberly-Clark project off Pine Avenue. The $800 million investment will create about 491 full-time jobs and add $49.1 million in payroll by December 2030—Howland will provide emergency services while Warren Township and Warren City share other roles. - ➤ On July 30th, four reentry court graduates (Alexander Blandon, Samantha Manda, Allen Reed and Whister Winford) received certificates from Judge Anthony Donofrio at the Mahoning County Courthouse at 120 Market Street as part of a program that helps released inmates reintegrate into society. WFMJ
- ➤ The State Employment Relations Board reported probable cause that Youngstown city officials violated state law by intimidating the firefighters union and making racially charged remarks during a meeting on EMS training. A hearing is set for August 20 to determine if the city committed an unfair labor practice—city lawyers dispute the complaint. The Vindicator
