CRIME NEWS

  • Federal prosecutors responded to defense motions in the letter carrier murder case by stating the defense did not meet the burden for disclosing a possible cooperating witness—if one exists—and that they would not confirm or deny its presence while noting the government complied with a discovery order from a seized phone.  WKBN
  • A Youngstown man—Nehemiah Clinkscale, 25—broke into his ex-girlfriend’s Boardman apartment on Baymar Drive on Aug. 7, dragged her outside, and tried to strangle her before being arrested on charges of aggravated burglary, strangulation, and abduction with a preliminary hearing set for Sept. 2.  The Vindicator
  • A juvenile girl was arrested for her role in a Friday morning carjacking at Dunkin’ on Market Street in Boardman — police charged her with obstruction of justice and a curfew violation after two men were forced from a car at gunpoint and a high-speed chase ended with other suspects fleeing.  The Vindicator
  • A teen runaway was booked into the county Juvenile Justice Center on two counts of assault after she resisted arrest and struck a police officer at a McDonald’s on Tuesday, August 12th at about 2:30 p.m.—she also kicked another officer, reports said.  WKBN
  • A woman reported being sexually accosted at T.J. Maxx on U.S. Route 224 about 7:30 p.m. Saturday while browsing the kitchenware section when she felt a man’s genitals make contact with her; the suspect (a light-skinned white male in his late 20s or early 30s with tattoos on his left arm and blue flannel pajama pants) was not located by store employees and this marks the second similar report in the township.  The Vindicator
