- ➤ The Mahoning Soil & Water Conservation District is hosting the Mill Creek Watershed clean-up event today from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the East Newport Boat Launch in Boardman to remove trash and make the water better for visitors and animals. - ➤ Volunteers gathered Saturday at 9/11 Memorial Park in Austintown—located at 1055 S Raccoon Road—to spread mulch, pull weeds, and trim trees for the upcoming ceremony on Thursday, September 11 at 10 a.m. Kate Guzzo said a new walk-through museum project will be built on the park's south end with grant funds and completed by the 2026 event. - ➤ An Enterprise rental truck slammed into a semitruck near Glacier Hills Service Plaza on I–76 just after 6:00 p.m. tonight, backing up traffic for miles in Mahoning County—first responders detached the vehicles while it remains unknown if anyone was injured. WFMJ

- ➤ An OVI checkpoint was held on Elm Road in Howland on Saturday night from 9 to 11 p.m. by the Ohio State Highway Patrol — Howland Township Police set nearby saturation patrols to deter impaired driving and reduce crash injuries and deaths. WKBN
- ➤ A Mahoning County grand jury indicted ten people on Thursday in Youngstown—charges ranged from felonious assault and jail escape to domestic violence, theft, forgery, drug and marijuana possession, OVI, and tampering with evidence, including names such as Demetrius Foster, 21, and Robert M. - ➤ United Local Schools opened its new K-12 building Saturday with a ribbon-cutting event that previewed a space built to help students work together and use modern technology—featuring maker spaces, a media center with a 3D printer, and a legacy wall honoring school history.
