- ➤ Boxing legends and local celebrities played in a charity softball game Saturday evening at Eastwood Field in Niles to support Brookfield resident Robert Lucarell, who has battled Crohn’s disease since 2018. The fundraiser—managed by local boxing icons—benefited the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation and united community leaders, patients, and media from the Mahoning Valley. WFMJ
- ➤ On Sunday morning, dozens of volunteers gathered at the East Newport Boat Launch in Boardman Township to remove trash from Mill Creek and nearby park areas as part of a cleanup organized by the Mahoning County Soil and Water Conservation District — their work aimed to protect water quality and cut treatment costs. - ➤ Three women in a large crowd on Market Street and Florida Avenue on the South Side were shot at 5:21 a.m. Sunday—ambulance personnel transported them to a hospital where they remain in stable condition while police investigate the incident. The Vindicator

- ➤ Derick Young, a former Marine Corps veteran from Warren, has led the Mahoning County Veterans Honor Court since 2016 and was appointed in July as a commissioner on the Mahoning County Veterans Service Commission—helping veterans with legal charges and financial needs. - ➤ Buckeye PACE has opened a new senior center at 2701 Market Street — a former Rite Aid store — to help older residents get the care they need so they can live safely and independently.
