On Sunday morning, the community took part in the 16th annual Panerathon—raising funds for the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center with a choice of a 10k run or a two-mile walk as previous events have raised over 5 million dollars.
Runners from 20 states and Germany joined the fundraiser, and organizer Allen Ryan along with survivor Claire Jones said the event showed strong support for breast cancer care.
An attached garage at 563 Mona Lane caught fire Sunday afternoon on Youngstown's west side—firefighters arrived around 3:45 p.m. and found the home was not impacted and no one was injured while the cause remains unknown.
