- ➤ Day 1 of the 2025 Canfield Fair began on Wednesday in Canfield as visitors enjoyed animal exhibits, contests, demonstrations and fair food. An Agricultural Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony honored Edward and Charles Barth and Larry and Kathy Bennett at 11 a.m. while the Open Draft Horse Pig Iron Derby took place at 7:30 p.m.—admission ranged from free to $6 and parking was free. - ➤ On Wednesday, over 1,100 customers in Youngstown lost power and traffic delays were reported near Glenwood Avenue and Canfield Road. FirstEnergy investigated the outage — power was expected to be restored by 10 a.m. WKBN
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Choffin Career and Technical Center unveiled its new two-year automated manufacturing program during an open house Wednesday, where 35 seniors and 15 juniors began learning hydraulics, robotics, mechatronics and electronics for future high-paying careers—supported by a $10,000 donation from a local nonprofit.
