- ➤ Nitro, who had waited more than 2,000 days at Healthy Hearts and Paws Project, was adopted by the Seara family in late July—he finally found his forever home. His new start shows a welcome change for a long-time shelter resident. WKBN
- ➤ Students painted crosswalks and pedestrian sidewalks near Niles Middle School on Monday with red and blue to support a safe street demonstration—an effort to improve safety and seek grant funding for permanent changes. Some students will join a bike rodeo at 10 a.m. Wednesday to practice bike safety in the demonstration area. WKBN
- ➤ Nancy Bannon, a filmmaker from Youngstown, is following the Mahoning County Drug Court to capture local efforts against opioid abuse and to share personal stories of recovery—her documentary 'If You Are Breathing' is halfway through filming and raising funds to complete production. WKBN

- ➤ Lisa Clear from Canfield turned her love for gardening into Seed the Good—a roadside flower business that brightens Leffingwell Road for passing drivers. CULTURE NEWS

- ➤ Trumbull County Family Court Judge David Engler is using TikTok to help people learn about the divorce process while sharing court tips and humorous stories—his videos aim to ease the stress for those facing a divorce. WKBN
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Many children are already in class or will start school soon, so local health experts say parents should update vaccination records to keep kids safe from diseases such as measles (which caused outbreaks in other states earlier this year). They advise that parents talk with a healthcare provider if they have any questions or if their child cannot be vaccinated due to personal health reasons. WKBN
