- ➤ On Sunday, the Travis Manion Foundation hosted the Mahoning Valley 9/11 Heroes Run at Kent State Trumbull to honor victims of the attacks and celebrate service members, first responders, and their families. - ➤ A Girard store called Sweet Memories Vintage Tees & Candy partnered with Stuckey’s to help the Akron Children’s Hospital NICU by selling exclusive candy & apparel. The store donated $70,000 since 2020 and plans to add $20,000 more this year, beating its original goal. WKBN
- ➤ Mark Munroe, a 74-year-old Boardman resident and amateur radio operator, recalled that getting separated from his family at the Canfield Fair on Labor Day Weekend in 1963 set him on a path that led to five years in the Civil Air Patrol, active duty in the Air Force, and service in the Army Reserve. He later built a long career in video production and played a key role in local politics—serving on the Mahoning County Board of Elections and Ohio State Racing Commission before retiring.
