- ➤ Ernest Hight Sr. from Youngstown will be inducted posthumously into the Ohio Senior Citizens Hall of Fame at a ceremony in Columbus for his decades of service—he worked for U.S. Steel, served as a bailiff and custodian, and was a long-time deacon and supporter of local sports. WKBN
- ➤ The Lordstown Apple Cider Festival will take place from Sept. 12 to 14, offering apple cider, car shows, crafts, rides, live music and a visit from the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile—organized by local volunteers to provide family fun and a weekend full of events including a car show in Warren and a parade led by Grand Marshal Dave Horner. - ➤ City officials held a ribbon cutting on Wednesday at Lynn Park to celebrate its new slides, swings — and a pickleball court. EDUCATION NEWS

- ➤ Today the League of Women Voters set up near Kilcawley Center at YSU from noon to 5 p.m. to help students register to vote—aiming to raise youth participation in elections. WKBN
- ➤ Governor DeWine ordered flags to be flown at half-staff today to honor 9/11 victims and asked Ohioans to observe a moment of silence starting at 8:46 a.m.—the order applies to all public buildings and grounds statewide. WFMJ
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Dr. Eric Ligotski, a second-year resident at Akron Children's Hospital, found that calls to the Poison Control Center for cannabis intoxication in children 0-5 jumped by twelve times between 2018 and last year.
