- ➤ Birdfish Brewing Co. in Columbiana will host its ninth annual Blueberry Oatmeal Outstanding Breakfast Stout tapping on Oct. 16 from 4 to 9 p.m. & it will donate raffle proceeds, T-shirt sales, and food truck revenue to benefit the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center. WKBN
- ➤ The United Pastors, Clergy and Community Leaders of Greater Youngstown held their final Stop the Violence march Sunday afternoon to urge peace amid a year marked by political violence, including the murder of influencer Charlie Kirk. Rev. Kenneth Simon noted that city officials reported a significant drop in homicides—though even one act of violence remains a serious concern. WFMJ
- ➤ Sunday, the sixth annual Choose Joy for Melina 5K took place at Canfield High School to honor Melina Michelle Edenfield who passed away from a rare brain tumor called Diffuse Midline Glioma—raising funds and celebrating community strength. - ➤ Youngstown Diocese will hold a private groundbreaking ceremony today at the former Saints Cyril and Methodius Church on East Wood St for its new All Saints Diocesan Archives Center. The new two story 4900 square foot building will be built next to the preserved church to safeguard church records and include expanded green space, energy efficiency upgrades and reused woodwork from the former rectory. - ➤ Trumbull County Historical Society archivist explains how local pioneer John Stark Edwards is linked to Aaron Burr, a figure featured in the Hamilton musical’s 10-year celebration on August 6. - ➤ Today, officials close Palmyra Road in Milton Township, Beard Road in Springfield Township, and McCleary Jacoby Road in Bazetta Township for culvert replacement work—expected to reopen Friday—in Mahoning and Trumbull counties. Drivers may face delays from overnight closures as the work continues. WKBN
