- ➤ Struthers native Arthur Newell, a World War II veteran, celebrated his 100th birthday Saturday in Yellow Creek Park (off state Route 616) with more than 60 family members and friends. He remained active and was honored for his resourcefulness and dedication to his country. The Vindicator
- ➤ Boo Squad, led by Heather Hrina Medvec, will feed 500 families a full Thanksgiving dinner using nearly $30,000 raised from local sponsors. The food drive will serve families in Struthers, Campbell, Girard and 100 veterans—supporting many in our community. WKBN
- ➤ CityScape has announced the winners of its 19th annual Youngstown CityScape Beautification Awards—business, institutional, community, and residential. The awards were presented on Thursday at Concept Studio, 217 W. Federal St., recognizing local efforts to enhance the city's look. The Vindicator
- ➤ Lane Funeral Home is hosting its 28th annual coat collection for the Salvation Army in Warren through December 5 — collection sites include Shafer-Winans Chapel in Cortland, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren, and Madasz Chapel in Brookfield. The Vindicator
- ➤ The HELMS Foundation held SPLATTERFEST 2025 at Penguin City Brewing downtown on Saturday, offering a family event with interactive art and an adults-only session that raised funds for art therapy programs—helping offset a significant funding shortfall. The Vindicator
- ➤ Rust City Church in Niles hosts a weekly food drive every Wednesday at 6 p.m. that has grown from about 100 to 300 cars—volunteers pack food and toiletries to help hundreds of families in need. WFMJ
- ➤ Volunteers gathered Saturday to clean up litter along Mahoning Avenue in Warren — organized by the Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership with support from the Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste Management District. - ➤ On Saturday, a living history walk at Brownwood Cemetery (in North Bloomfield) highlighted the stories of 11 Civil War veterans, including an escaped slave, as local reenactors and speakers shared key details of their lives.
