Struthers native Arthur Newell, a World War II veteran, celebrated his 100th birthday Saturday in Yellow Creek Park (off state Route 616) with more than 60 family members and friends.

He remained active and was honored for his resourcefulness and dedication to his country.

Boo Squad, led by Heather Hrina Medvec, will feed 500 families a full Thanksgiving dinner using nearly $30,000 raised from local sponsors.
