- ➤ Home Carpet, a local family business in Boardman, is hosting a holiday raffle called V’s Trees to raise funds for Vail’s Voice Foundation which helps families with seriously ill children. Tickets cost $10 and the raffle runs through Friday, December 12 with a reception and Santa’s visit, and funds benefit Rainbow Children’s Hospital in Cleveland and Akron Children’s Hospital in Youngstown—delivering meals and essential items to families in need. - ➤ The Warren Family Mission in Warren is preparing to host its annual Thanksgiving dinner on November 26 from noon until 2 p.m. and will serve around 2,000 meals while still needing donations of gravy + Hawaiian rolls + cookies to complete its holiday spread. WKBN
- ➤ Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley received an anonymous 55-pound turkey (raised, processed, and frozen by the donor) just in time for Thanksgiving. The turkey will feed 37 guests and be served with sides at lunch and dinner from 1 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 7 p.m. WKBN
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ The Red Cross was asked to help three adults after a fire destroyed their home in Warren Township. A dispatcher reported the call at around 10:15 a.m.—local fire departments responded while the Ohio Fire Marshal investigated the cause of the blaze. WFMJ
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Roemer Industries, an 88-year-old manufacturer in Masury, received a $25,000 grant from JobsOhio and will use the funds to buy new equipment that boosts production efficiency and meets growing customer demand. WFMJ
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Purple Cat announced that its new West Federal Street center at 107 West Federal Street will hold an open house today at 11 a.m. The facility is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. — featuring art and gifts by Purple Cat artists, quick lunches by Gallagher’s Lunch Bucket, and live disco shows by the member-led band The Feral Cats. - ➤ Brass musicians will perform at the 52nd annual TubaChristmas concert at the Stambaugh Auditorium Concert Hall at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 30 (1000 Fifth Ave) where free admission is available and donations are accepted. The auditorium will also host the 9th Annual Holiday Craft Show with 82 vendors from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. WFMJ

- ➤ PUCO ordered FirstEnergy to pay $250 million in refunds and fines after its utilities broke Ohio law during an investigation of bribery and misuse of customer funds. The company must file refund plans by Nov. 26 and start issuing credits in the following billing cycles—PUCO insists this measure will enforce strict compliance. WKBN
- ➤ Trumbull County commissioners approved a 10-year, 60% tax break for Kimberly-Clark's planned expansion at the Pine Avenue site—where they plan to build a 590,000 square-foot distribution center that will employ up to 65 people—and construction is set to start early next year pending a final budget. - ➤ Ohio Living Home Health & Hospice is offering Dementia Live training to help caregivers see the challenges of daily tasks by using sensory distortion at Armstrong Memory Care Assisted Living. The training will be held on January 8 at the Warren Scope Center (call 330-399-8846 to reserve a spot) and is open to other facilities as well. WKBN

- ➤ A major building project in a South Side neighborhood is complete as YNDC held a ribbon-cutting Wednesday on Glenwood Avenue for five duplexes with solar panels — each unit features two bedrooms and two baths and leases for $850 to $950 a month to 10 families. WKBN
